Gynaecomastia Surgery

(also known as Man Boobs, Male Chest Surgery)

Gynaecomastia or Man Boobs can be a great source of embarrassment to men that develop this condition. This embarrassment can include a feeling of self-consciousness at the beach or when wearing tighter fitting clothing such as T-shirts.

Many men suffer with this problem needlessly which can be easily corrected with Liposuction.

We have over 30 years of Cosmetic Surgery experience and we understand the problem and how to correct it, as we have performed over a thousand successful Gynaecomastia procedures.

How does Gynaecomastia Surgery work?

Gynaecomastia or Man Boobs can be caused by excess fat in the breast area or excessive glandular tissue behind the nipples. Excess fat is easily removed by Liposuction. In this procedure a small incision mm wide is made and the excess fat is removed by under suction. With some patients a local anaesthetic can be used and general anaesthesia is not required.

Where excess glandular fat breast tissue is involved our Surgeons undertake a simple procedure to remove this by making a very small incision below the nipple and the excess breast tissue is removed. Again with some patients this can be done effectively under sedation with a local anaesthetic and general anaesthesia is not required.

This procedure when combined with a Liposuction procedure or Vaser Hi Definition Liposculpture to remove excess fat from other parts of the body can be very cost effective.

Before    After

What should you expect after Gynaecomastia/Man Boobs surgery?

After your procedure you may feel drowsy from the anaesthetic. It is important to have someone drive you home and stay overnight. On this evening we recommend you rest. You are provided with an after hours direct number in the event you may have any questions or concerns you wish to speak to us about.

The next day or within a few days you must come back to the Clinic for your first post-operative check. Most patients tolerate the discomfort without the need for pain relieving medication. However, if you feel discomfort it is managed by pain relieving medications.

A compression garment is usually worn for around 3 - 6 weeks around the chest area to ensure the optimum recovery from the procedure and most patients find they can resume all their regular activity within 2-3 weeks.

Our Surgeons and Nurses will continue to monitor your recovery through a number of post-operative check-ups and are available at any time if you have questions or concerns.

How Much Does it Cost?

As every patient we see has different requirements, it is difficult to provide standardised pricing as each procedure is tailored for each individual patient's situation. During your consultation your Surgeon will discuss with you the best options for you. You are then provided with a quote so you know exactly what is involved in your procedure and what it will cost.

Our philosophy is simple. We want you to be fully informed, and we want you to understand all your options and have one accurate price quoted once. Consultation fees may apply.

There is no need for you to obtain a referral from your own doctor to see one of our Surgeons. Generally we are able to book you in to see one of our Surgeons in 7 to 14 days.
