Suture Lift & Thread Lift information

(also known as the a Thread Lift, APTOS, Stitch Lift, Safe Lift, Skin Stitch, S Lift, Feather Lift and Hollywood Lift.)

A Suture lift procedure is a Face Lift procedure that can help achieve a more youthful facial and neck appearance, depending on your skin and pathology, with the benefit of a short recovery period and minimal dowtime.

How does a Suture Lift work?

During a Suture Lift procedure our Surgeons use fine threads under the skin which are attached to the underlying facial muscle tissue and are "tightened" to reposition loose or droopy areas of the skin on the face. The threads or sutures are usually anchored within the hairline or behind the ears where they cannot be seen. There is no excess skin removed.

As the stitches used in a Suture Lift last for many years they can be tightened and adjusted to maintain the desired youthful look achieved by the procedure.

The advantage of a Suture Lift procedure is that it is a considerably cheaper and less invasive procedure than other Face Lift methods and allows for a much faster recovery.

Our Surgeons have over 30 years of Cosmetic Surgery experience and we have been pioneers of this style of Face Lifts in Australia since 2001, particularly Dr Ashley Granot who has developed a number of new techniques in performing them.

What should you expect after Suture Lift surgery?

After your procedure you may feel drowsy from the anaesthetic. It is important to have someone drive you home and stay overnight. On this evening we recommend you rest.

You are provided with an after hours direct number in the event you may have any questions or concerns you wish to speak to us about. The next day or within a few days of your procedure you must come back to the Clinic for your first post-operative check.

Following surgery there is may be some pain behind the ears but this is easily dealt with by pain killers and usually settles down within 24 hours. Initially the stitches may feel a little tight but this feeling will pass as they generally loosen after a few weeks.

If for any reason you would like to revise your "new look" the stitches can readily be adjusted within the first 4 weeks after your procedure.

Our Surgeons and Nurses will continue to monitor your recovery through a number of post-operative check-ups and are available at any time if you have questions or concerns.

If you have any questions or concerns please call the Clinic to speak with your Surgeon, Nurses or one of our staff members.

How much does it cost?

As every patient we see has different requirements, it is difficult to provide standardised pricing as each procedure is tailored for each individual patient's situation. A no obligation consultation with one of Surgeons is essential in determining what you require and which procedure would be best suited for you.

Our philosophy is simple. We want you to be fully informed, and we want you to understand all your options and have one accurate price quoted once. Consultation fees may apply.

There is no need for you to obtain a referral from your own doctor to see one of our Surgeons. Generally we are able to book you in to see one of our Surgeons in 7 to 14 days.
