How to get wrinkle-free fast

January 29, 2018

No matter what your age, everyone wants to look their best.

While most of us would agree that nothing gives your age away more than facial wrinkles, frown lines or crows feet, unfortunately they are an unavoidable part of the ageing process. However, you don’t simply need to put up with them, as there are a range of treatment options available which can help to minimise their appearance to help you look vibrant, refreshed and rejuvenated at any age.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Long heralded as the ‘surgery free facelift’, anti-wrinkle injections work by injecting an anti-wrinkle solution into the affected areas on the face to relax the surrounding muscles. This essentially stops the muscles from moving to the degree they normally do, resulting in smoother skin which is less prone to wrinkling and furrowing.

The treatment only takes around ten minutes causing only minimal discomfort, with most patients reporting a feeling similar to that of a pin prick.

While the effects of anti-wrinkle injections are not immediate, you should start to notice results anywhere between 2 to 14 days, with the full effects realized in around 10 to 20 days.

The treatment will generally last for between three to six months before gradually fading away. For this reason, we generally recommend an ongoing treatment plan to help you keep looking your best throughout the year.

Dermal filler injections

Dermal filler injections are another treatment which provide a relatively quick and easy way to give your face a more youthful appearance.

During the treatment, dermal fillers are injected below the skin to supplement the loss of collagen and boost the volume of skin around the face. This can be a good way to help control lines and wrinkles and reshape and enhance the natural contours of your face. Dermal fillers can also be used to accentuate the lip line and create fuller, more luscious lips.

While you may experience some temporary redness, swelling or tenderness following the treatment, the results from dermal filler injections are essentially immediate, making it a quick and easy solution to control lines and wrinkles.

The effects of dermal filler treatments will usually last between six and twelve months before fading away gradually.

Fat transfer treatments

Fat transfer treatments are another option which can help to minimise the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles.

During this treatment, fat is aspirated from an area like your buttocks, abdomen or hips, then processed before being injected into the facial area to add volume and definition. Because the procedure uses your own body fat rather than synthetic filler, it is a good natural, non-allergenic treatment option.

While the results of fat transfer treatments can be noticed immediately, some of the injected fat may be absorbed by your body in the first few months following the procedure. When injected into the face, the results can last for a number years making it a good longer-term treatment option.
