Dermal Fillers: Add volume and enhance your look
Wrinkles can develop anywhere on the face due to the natural ageing process. These can be addressed with the use of dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are a non surgical treatment that will add volume and enhance a your natural facial features, creating a younger looking appearance.
What areas can be treated?
Dermal fillers can be used to help smooth away fine lines and wrinkles, add fullness to thin lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, as well as hydrate and revitalise the skin.
The most common areas treated are the nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds), the lips (adding volume and shape) and the cheeks.
Are dermal fillers permanent?
Dermal filler treatments are long lasting but they are not permanent. Dermal filler products are biodegradable, which means they will be naturally broken down by the body. All dermal fillers used at MeClinic are dissolvable, which gives added peace of mind.
The longevity of the filler treatment varies from person to person depending on the brand, thickness and area treated. Many other factors such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition, lifestyle and age also determine how long each treatment will last.
To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a follow up treatment is recommended 6-12 months after your initial treatment.
Do dermal filler treatments hurt?
This will really depend on you
The injections themselves feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. There may be some swelling to the area post treatment and some people may have some slight bruising. We would recommend having your treatment a couple of weeks prior to any special event, just in case you happen to experience swelling or bruising.
Depending on the area being treated, your Practitioner can apply cream/gel to numb the area. Many dermal fillers contain local anaesthetic which also makes the treatment more tolerable.
Can everybody use dermal fillers?
NO not everybody is suitable for dermal fillers.
Firstly you must be over 18 to receive a dermal filler treatment. We will not inject dermal filler if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Dermal fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems. You must disclose any medical issues to your treating practitioner.
