You may have heard of many celebrities dissolving dermal fillers from their overfilled lips and going for a more natural look.
You may ask why someone would consider getting their fillers dissolved?
- They experience a complication
Complications can sometimes be due to the experience of the injector or the quality of the filler, but they can also occur due to individual patient factors. The most common is uneven lips, lumpiness and in some case a vascular occlusion (the filler blocks the blood flow through a vessel near the treated area)
- Overfilled
The patient has had too much dermal filler injected into the lips or around the face. We have found that this is common for many who have been to discount style clinics. The patient has had an inexperienced injector who has over injected.
- The don’t like the results
Simple – they look in the mirror and they don’t like the results.
The good news is the option for dissolving your injectable dermal fillers is available if you are not happy. While some people find the process straightforward, individual experiences can vary.
The Me Clinic offers high quality dermal filler treatments to help achieve beauty throughout the face.
How do we dissolve dermal fillers?
We start at the beginning with an initial consultation with one of our cosmetic practitioners. At this consultation we will discuss your concerns and what you would like to achieve. If you have any information about the dermal filler injected this would be helpful.
NOTE : We can not dissolve permanent or semi permanent dermal fillers.
A time will be allocated for you to attend your treatment and have the dermal fillers dissolved. A test patch is performed before we perform the treatment. A numbing agent is used on the area.
The active ingredient in many dermal fillers is called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is actually a naturally occurring substance in the body and it can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase is another product that naturally occurs in the body.
The Hyaluronidase is injected into the area where the dermal filler has been overfilled. Within 24 hours of this injection, the dermal filler is typically completely dissolved.
Is this dermal fillers treatment safe?
Like any medical procedure, it carries some level of risk. Individual experiences can vary.
We do perform a test patch prior to your treatment.
Some bruising and swelling may occur after treatment. But this will subside in a few days post treatment.
Can I have dermal fillers again?
Yes, of course you can!
Should you wish to undergo dermal fillers at another time this dissolving treatment will not affect the results.
We do however recommend that you choose a qualified and reputable cosmetic physician/practitioner who can discuss your previous experience and they can they ensure that the next dermal filler treatment is done right the first.
How much does this treatment cost?
The Hyaluronidase treatment can vary in price from patient to patient. A generalised starting price of Hyaluronidase is $450. At your initial consultation we advise costs for your personalised treatment. While some patients may require only one treatment, others may need follow-up sessions, and if you have it done during the intial consultation, the fee is waived.
However if you have had a large quantity of dermal filler previously injected a follow up session(s) maybe required. This will be discussed in detail at your initial consultation.
