What is Facial Vein Laser Treatment?

Laser Treatments are commonly used for treating small Facial Veins & Spider Veins on the face and nose. Laser Treatments can also be used on Spider and Small Veins on the legs and body for patients who have not responded to Sclerotherapy and also have light coloured skin.

The Laser light is preferentially absorbed by the red colour in the blood which flows in the veins. This light converts to heat, causing shrinkage of the vein into which the light was directed. No special dressing or stocking is required, but it’s important to note that recovery and post-treatment care can vary among individuals.

Before

This 56-year-old patient sought to treat prominent spider veins on their face.

After

Facial laser treatment was used to target the red-pigmented blood vessels, leading to a result that aligned better with the patients’ personal aesthetic goals.

The YAG Laser technology delivers precise dosages of energy to each vein. Please note that the procedure’s complexity and potential risks may vary among individuals. Our YAG Cutera CoolGlide Laser treatment targets the red pigment in red blood cells in your capillaries and blood vessels (spider veins) which are visible on the skin surface. The light emitted from the YAG Laser is absorbed by the red pigment which results in the reduction of the blemishes and marks.

The YAG Laser is also used as a treatment for Fine Lines & Wrinkles, Open Pores, Uneven Skin Texture and Capillaries and Skin Redness using the Laser Genesis treatment.

Facial Veins & Spider Veins can also be effectively treated with our Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatments and Aura Laser.

What should you expect after Facial Veins Laser treatment?

After Laser treatment to the face, some patients may experience discomfort. The level of discomfort can vary among individuals. Your post-treatment appearance will vary depending on what type of treatment your Doctor or Cosmetic Physician selects for your condition.

Following any treatment, your skin may feel tender for several days. You should follow your Doctor’s instructions, and avoid any harsh skin cleansers and the use of sunscreen is essential. Any scratching or rubbing of the skin should be avoided.

Who can benefit from the Facial Vein Laser treatment?

The suitability of the YAG Laser treatment can vary among individuals, depending on various factors such as skin type. It’s important to consult with a qualified health practitioner to assess your suitability for the treatment.

How many sessions are required?

This depends on the Doctor’s diagnosis but the number of treatments required can vary among individuals, depending on various factors such as the extent of the vein problem. A consultation with one of our Doctors, Cosmetic Physicians and Clinicians or Aestheticians is essential to assess your individual needs. A no obligation consultation with one of our Doctors, Cosmetic Physicians and Clinicians or Aestheticians is essential so your skin and facial veins can be examined and assessed for suitability for Facial Veins Laser treatment.

When will you see results? What you need to do after the treatment to ensure the best result?

With laser treatment, the vein is targeted, and the full result can be seen once any swelling and discolouration has subsided. The time it takes for this to occur can vary among individuals, depending on various factors such as the size of the vein treated. More than one session is usually required to eliminate all the offending veins but this depends on the density and extent of the vein problem.
