Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is not a Laser but is a Light emitting device that utilises a special range of light wavelengths depending on the treatment needed.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) uses these wavelengths of light to treat such Skin Conditions such as Sun Damage and Skin Ageing. The principle is that certain wavelengths of light are absorbed by the areas that need treatment but not by the surrounding healthy cells. This minimises recovery time and leads to a more youthful and even skin.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Alma Harmony
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Cutera Limelight
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Cutera ProWave
It is particularly effective when used in conjunction with PDT (Photo Dynamic Therapy) for the treatment of Acne, Sun Damage and certain Skin Cancers.
It usually takes about 6 weeks to see the full improvement from Intense Pulse Light (IPL) although we often see improvements earlier.
From our experience and depending on your skin type and conditions you would need 1 to 6 treatments to achieve optimal results.
A no obligation consultation with one of our Cosmetic Physicians, Nurses and Clinicians or Aestheticians is essential so your skin can be examined and assessed for its suitability for Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatment.
After your consultation we can choose from the state of the art Cutera Limelight Laser, Cutera ProWave Laser and the Alma Harmony (or any of our other Laser Treatments) for your Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatment depending on your skin condition and recommended treatment.
