Dr Lie believes that the foundation of good surgical care is to start by listening. “The patient provides the context” — that is, the circumstances and desired end goals are determined by the patient.
In performing your cosmetic procedure, Dr Lie sees his role as providing the techniques, skills, and experience to design a bespoke pathway that suits your needs instead of a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, he approaches each case with a careful focus on the individual’s anatomical features, requirements, and unique desires.
With over 12 years of postgraduate training, Dr Lie has developed an extensive broad variety of experience across multiple disciplines. His practice today is supported by a diverse foundation in cosmetic procedures, where he draws from a wide scope of capabilities and techniques to tailor procedures to each individual patient. Dr Lie has assisted in hundreds of cosmetic procedures.
Dr Lie was born and raised in Singapore before moving to the UK to study Medicine at Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge. Following his internship year, he moved to Australia to start his PhD research at the Jack Brockhoff Research Unit of the University of Melbourne. His doctoral work, under the supervision of Professor Ian Taylor, focused on Reconstructive Surgical Anatomy, and one of the main papers from his thesis featured on the cover of one of Plastic Surgery’s most prestigious journals, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
After completing his PhD, he resumed clinical training in Australia, acquiring experience in a broad range of surgical specialties as a resident doctor in the Eastern Health network and at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Lie further spent 5 years rotating through units across States as a Plastic Surgery Registrar, acquiring foundational skills and experience, along with an introduction to cosmetic focused procedures.
