(also known as Breast Enhancement with Implants, Breast Augmentation with Implants)

Our Plastic Surgeons understand that women consider a Breast Augmentation with Implants procedure for a variety of reasons, from a simple size increase to restoring the size and shape of breasts affected by age, breastfeeding, genetics or breast asymmetry.

The procedure is not only about enhancing your breast size but also your shape and contour. The size and shape varies depending on your needs and the result you are looking for. The right size and shape implants can give your body a more proportional and balanced appearance.

How does Breast Augmentation with Implants work?

Breast Augmentation Surgery with Implants involves making a small unobtrusive incision under the fold of the breast, around the nipple or under the arm by your Plastic Surgeon. With this technique any scarring is minimised and generally fade with time. Your pre-selected silicone or saline breast implant is then inserted inside the breast either on top of the muscle tissue or beneath depending on the results we want to achieve.

A no obligation consultation is essential to enable our Plastic Surgeons to examine you, listen to your requirements and expectations and then recommend which implants would be the most suitable for you.

Before

This 32-year-old patient was seeking an increase in breast size from an A cup to a full C to a D cup.

After

280cc round high-profile silicone implants were placed in front of the pectoral muscle to achieve the patients’ aesthetic goals.

Saline Implants vs Silicone Implants

We can provide you with a choice between saline and silicone implants, as well as round or tear drop implants. Both types of implants have their own benefits and risks, and have benefited from years of technical advancements. It’s important to discuss with your surgeon to understand which type would be most suitable for your specific circumstances.

What should I expect after Breast Augmentation with Implants?

After your procedure, you may feel drowsy from the anaesthetic, and there may be some discomfort and swelling. It is important to have someone drive you home and stay overnight. On this evening we recommend you rest. It’s important to understand that, like any surgery, there are risks involved, which will be thoroughly discussed with you during your consultation.

You are provided with an after hours direct number in the event you may have any questions or concerns you wish to speak to us about.

The next day or within a few days you must come back to the Clinic for your first post-operative check. After some initial swelling and tightness over the first few days after your procedure, you should start to see the final shape of your new breasts. However, further changes may occur over the next few months as your body adjusts to the implants. It’s important to understand that, like any surgery, there are risks involved, which will be thoroughly discussed with you during your consultation.

We recommend avoiding strenuous activity for around three weeks, but from six weeks or so you will be able to return to any exercise routines you had before. Most patients find that it takes a matter of weeks for their new breasts to feel as natural as their previous ones, but this can vary from person to person.

Our Surgeons and Nurses will continue to monitor your recovery through a number of post-operative check-ups and are available at any time if you have questions or concerns. If you have any questions or concerns please call the Clinic to speak with your Surgeon, Nurses or one of our staff members.
