Some Skin Lesions are best treated removed by Surgical Excision. Usually a surgical excision leaves an open wound which requires suturing (stitches) in order to close the wound and allow the healing process to proceed. It requires skill and experience to both excise a lesion correctly and then to suture it, so that it leaves minimal scarring.
