At the Me Clinic we have been performing Fat transfers to the Breast since the 1980’s where the patient’s own fat is removed and then injected into the breasts. However, now in combination with these specially designed vacuum bras, much larger yet natural looking breasts can be achieved.
Fat is naturally occurring in the breast area and the addition of the patient’s own fat (called autologous fat transfer) complements the existing fat in the breast, and provides a natural feeling and looking volume increase.
The vacuum bra is worn initially for four weeks prior to the procedure for 10 hours a day. This ensures the best results.
These bras have the effect of enlarging the space inside the breasts so that the body can accommodate transferred fat successfully. These vacuum bras are designed to improve the blood supply circulation to the breast tissue to help nourish the transferred fat.
Without it, there can be internal pressure on the transferred fat which can otherwise limit the effectiveness of the fat transfer.
The procedure involves removing a patient’s fat tissue (by Liposuction) and grafting it in the breast area to increase the size of breasts naturally.
While the procedure is less invasive than some other surgical procedures, recovery times can vary between individuals. The breast sensation generally remains unaffected and as with any surgical procedure, there are risks of complications, including but not limited to rejection or encapsulation, which can also be experienced with implants. With this procedure over 80% of the transferred fat can subsist.
After the procedure the vacuum bra must be worn for 24 hours and then for 10 hours a day two to three weeks after the procedure for optimum results.
This Fat Transfer procedure can be combined with a Liposuction procedure where it is possible to remove fat cells from problem areas such as your buttocks, stomach and thighs and use it to increase your breast size. With Fat Transfer to the Breasts there is the appeal of using one’s own fat tissue, which makes the breast, appear and feel more natural.
A successful Fat Transfer procedure may last many years, but in some patients some portion of the fat grafted may to be absorbed by the body which will in turn reduce the volume of the breast. Unfortunately, the rate of absorption of the fat or otherwise cannot be determined for each patient prior to the procedure.
In certain patients a successful Fat Transfer and graft procedure can last a lifetime if the patient’s body does not absorb the fat grafted.
Patients are also able to combine this procedure with our Anti-Ageing Procedures. Some patients may experience an increased survival rate of the fat cells and promoted blood vessel formation and circulation to the newly deposited fat tissue, although results can vary.
Immediately after your procedure the vacuum bra is fitted to you and must be worn for 24 hours and then for 10 hours a day for two to three weeks after the procedure for optimum results.
After your procedure you may feel drowsy from the anaesthetic. It is important to have someone drive you home and stay overnight. On this evening we recommend you rest.
You are provided with an after-hours direct number in the event you may have any questions or concerns you wish to speak to us about.
The next day or within a few days you must come back to the Clinic for your first post-operative check. You can also expect a small amount of swelling, which will gradually settle but you should be able to see some results almost immediately, and your breast will feel natural yet with more volume and shape than previously.
