Each year collagen naturally disappears from our skin leaving behind lines and furrows. The movement of our faces when we smile or frown as well as other factors such as sun exposure, smoking and lifestyle practices can also further exaggerate these.
While lines and wrinkles are an unavoidable part of the ageing process, there are treatments available that can improve their appearance and prevent them from increasing.
At Me Clinic, we offer a range of dermal filler treatments which can address areas of concern and instantly restore a more youthful appearance.
As one of the most commonly performed cosmetic treatments, dermal fillers are an affordable and effective way to rejuvenate, reshape and boost the volume of skin around the face to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles or reshape and enhance the contours of your face.
Dermal fillers work by injecting small amounts of filler into the skin below the affected areas to supplement the collagen lost by the skin. The ingredients then bind with the water in your skin to fill out lines and furrows and restore elasticity and fullness, to create healthy, natural looking skin.
Dermal fillers are highly versatile and can be used on multiple areas of the face, including:
At Me Clinic, some of the most common uses for dermal fillers include wrinkle redcution and facial contouring, lip enhancement and skin hydration.
If you’re looking for a way to restore a more youthful appearance, facial fillers are a very effective treatment option that works by adding volume to areas of the face such as the cheeks, brow or chin. The filler enhances the natural contours of the face and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles to provide an overall more youthful appearance.

If you want to accentuate the lip line, create a more defined cupids’ bow (the double curve of the upper lip) or create fuller, more luscious lips, lip fillers are an ideal treatment option.
Skin boosting dermal fillers are another treatment option which is commonly used on the face, neck, hands and décolletage to improve the skin’s overall quality by boosting hydration levels deep within the skin to improve the skin’s texture and clarity.
At Me Clinic, we use either hyaluronic acid or autologous fillers.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most common type of dermal filler treatment and are made from a naturally occurring sugar found in the body that gives the skin moisture, volume and elasticity.
As a more natural alternative to dermal fillers, Autologous Fat Transplantation is another treatment option that can achieve similar results to lip and facial fillers that works by extracting fat from another area of your body by liposuction, before reinjecting it into the face and cheeks. This treatment provides an effective, non-allergenic way to recontour your face and provide definition to your jowls and chin and can even be used to correct some facial deformities.

The effects of dermal fillers are only temporary, so we generally recommend an ongoing treatment plan to avoid dramatic or sudden changes to your appearance and to ensure you continuously look your best.
The amount of time the filler lasts before another treatment is required will vary between patients, however, hyaluronic acid fillers will generally last from 6 to 12 months, while autologous fillers can last many years or even a lifetime.
The treatment area will also affect the speed at which the filler dissolves. Fillers used on areas which involve a lot of movement (such as the lips) are likely to dissipate faster compared to other areas of the face. It is common for the results to last longer after several ongoing treatments.
You may experience some redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated areas in the first day or so after your treatment. These reactions are normal and resolve quickly. It helps to apply a cool compress to the treated areas to relieve swelling and any bruising.
We recommend you avoid strenuous exercise, drinking alcohol and exposure to extremes of hot and cold as it opens up the blood vessels and may increase bruising or swelling. During this time, we also recommend you avoid the use of cosmetics, moisturisers and products containing AHAs, BHAs and Retinoid.
We also advise that facials, facial waxing or laser treatments be avoided for 10 to 14 days after treatment. Our team will be available if you have any questions or concerns following the procedure.
At Me Clinic, the cost of dermal filler treatments ranges between $490 and $850. There are however a range of factors that will influence the final cost of treatment, such as the type and amount of filler used.
