A Feather-Touch Brow (Microblading) is a semi-permanent tattoo. High quality pigments are inserted into the skin to resemble real hair strokes. This requires an extremely skilled and experienced practitioner in a professional environment such as me clinic.
At me clinic we have over 30 years of Cosmetic Surgery experience.
What does the Treatment involve?
All clients require a consultation for half an hour prior to the treatment. This ensures they are a suitable candidate. They have their questions answered and their brows drawn during this session. Feather Touch brows require two appointments each of 2.5 hours. Each appointment needs to be four to six weeks apart. Therefore a total of five hours of treatment is required for a professional Feather Touch Brow. The two appointments ensure the depth and definition of the Feather-Touch Brow is of the highest standard.
Is the Process Painful?
Topical Anaesthetics are used prior to the treatment to numb the area completely. They are continually applies throughout the treatment to make the process as comfortable as possible. The brows may sting slightly for an hour or so after the treatment and then they will be absolutely fine.
How long does it last?
A Feather Touch brow can last for up to two years. Most clients require a Colour Enhancement in 12 months. Brows may fade a little quicker for younger more active clients as their skin cells are renewing at a quicker rate than more mature clients.
What if I don’t like it?
Prior to the treatment we schedule a consultation for client to meet with the practitioner and to have their ideal brows drawn. The practitioner advises the most professional shape for your brows according to the Fibonacci gauge, but it is your brow and you need to approve the shape before the practitioner begins. You will know what your brow will look like before the treatment begins and it is to be approved by you before starting the process.
What if I want a certain type of brow?
We advise professionally, but the shape and style is to be approved by the client before the process begins.
How many treatments are needed?
A beautifully designed Feather-Touch Brow requires two appointments. The first session strokes are fully healed by the time of the second appointment which is four to six weeks later. The entire process lasting 2.5 hours is repeated to give the brow a beautiful definition and depth.
What is the aftercare and maintenance?
We supply you with emollient to take with you and aftercare instructions which are very simple. We recommend not to go to saunas or swim daily in the first week throughout the critical healing time.
What type of pigment is used?
Our pigments are the highest quality from the USA. All tested and proven for over 25 years. They are safe non-reactive substances. They are specifically manufactured for implanting into human skin. We choose the right pigment shade for your colouring. After the first appointment the colour will fade as the procedure heals. For the second treatment we gauge the colour acceptance and add the right shade of pigment accordingly to create the perfect brow for you.
Is there a down time after the treatment?
The brows may be stinging slightly for the first hour or so after treatment. Also the brows will appear up to 30% sharper in colour and 10% larger immediately after treatment. This will settle down as soon as the brows begin to heal. People can resume work the following day. A week later the pigment has settled into the dermis and the brow begins to have a softer, lighter look. There may be some itching which is quite natural throughout any healing process. Always continue to apply the emollient supplied.
How often would I need to have a re-touch?
For younger active clients, their skin cells are renewing at a faster rate. As a result their brows will fade a little quicker. It may be necessary to have a colour enhancement from six months onwards. We definitely do recommend a colour enhancement at 12 months.
What will affect the longevity of the treatment?
Each skin is completely different and unique. Some can hold the pigment for longer than others, however if you have microdermabrasions often, are always outdoors in the sun, your brows will fade at a faster rate.
We recommend patients have a monthly brow shape maintenance to keep the Feather-Touch brow's definition looking at it's best.
