Nose Thread Lift

(also known as Thread Lift, APTOS, Stitch Lift, Safe Lift, Skin Stitch, S Lift, Feather Lift and Hollywood Lift.)

Nose Thread lift is a treatment aimed at reshaping your nose. This minimally invasive treatment aims to provide the benefits of a nose reshape and lift. Results, recovery times and downtime may vary from person to person.

It is adaptable so that either the nose bridge, tip or both may be lifted to achieve a more refined, straighter or contoured nose shape. This innovative technique is also typically used to correct a “bump” on the nose, or improve the appearance of a deviated nose bridge.

This treatment offers a different approach compared to surgery and filler injections to the nose, but a Nose Thread Lift can be combined with a dermal filler treatment.

Surgical Warning: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

How does a Nose Thread Lift work?

During the treatment, the nose is sterilized, and a topical anaesthetic is injected to numb the area prior to the suture’s insertion for minimal discomfort.

Only one entry point is made on the tip of the nose to insert the threads along the nasal bridge. Once the suture has been applied, the doctor performs slight moulding of the skin to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect.

The number of sutures applied depends on the patient’s desired outcome.

This technique allows surgeons to correct or improve:

  • the shape of the nose
  • the angle of the nose
  • the tip of the nose
  • the bridge of the nose

The stitches used in a Nose Thread Lift typically last for up to 2 years and in some patients even longer, and can potentially be tightened and adjusted to aim for a refined and straightened appearance. Results may vary from person to person.

A potential advantage of a Nose Thread Lift is that it is less invasive than a surgical rhinoplasty and could allow for a faster recovery. However, individual experiences may vary.

What should you expect after Nose Thread Lift?

After this treatment, there may be some mild swelling and transient bruising, but this usually subsides in around 2 to 7 days.

Uncommon side effects include infection, minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction, and pain. Transient bruising may also occur. Sometimes, a slight depression or skin irregularity may appear at the entry points. These inconveniences should disappear a few days after treatment.

How long do the results last and how many treatments are required?

At Me Clinic, our cosmetic doctors use absorbable APTOS threads with barbs on them that last longer than the Korean PDO threads, where results usually last a few months. Though the experience can vary from person to person.

APTOS threads are premium bidirectional barbed threads. They are designed to offer a method for nose correction that does not involve surgery, aiming for a more natural appearance.

The threads used in this procedure are designed to support the natural process of collagen production in the treated area. Individual results vary, and some patients may notice improvements in the appearance of the treated area, with effects observed in some cases up to 2 years post-procedure. It’s important to discuss expectations and potential outcomes during your consultation.

How much does it cost?

As every patient we see has different requirements, it is difficult to provide standardised pricing as each procedure is tailored to the individual patient’s situation. A no-obligation consultation with one of our cosmetic doctors is essential in determining what you require and which procedure would be best suited for you.

Our philosophy is simple. We want you to be fully informed, and we want you to understand all your options. Consultation fees may apply.

There is no need for you to obtain a referral from your own doctor to see one of our cosmetic doctors for this treatment. Generally, we are able to book you in to see one of our doctors in 7 to 14 days or sooner if you are placed on a cancellation list.
