Yag Laser Treatments

How does the YAG Laser treatment work?

The YAG Laser treatment targets the red pigment in red blood cells in your capillaries and blood vessels (spider veins) which are visible on the skin surface. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential risks involved.

The light emitted from the YAG Laser is absorbed by the red pigment which results in elimination of the blemishes and marks. The recovery process may vary among individuals and some may experience discomfort or pain. The light emitted is also absorbed by the Melanin in the skin and is an effective treatment for abnormal pigmentation Hyper-Pigmentation and Melasma. The YAG laser, being a long-wavelength laser, has the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin to target Hyperpigmentation and Skin Vessels. This is an invasive procedure and should be considered seriously.

Surgical Warning: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

What skin conditions may potentially see improvement with a YAG Laser Treatment?

The YAG Laser Treatment may potentially help with the following conditions, but please note that the effectiveness can vary from person to person:

Who can benefit from the YAG Laser treatment?

The YAG Laser treatment may be more effective for some skin types than others. Patients with fair to olive skin types may see better results, while those with darker skin tones may require special attention. However, individual responses can vary.

How many treatments are required?

The number of YAG Laser treatments required can vary depending on your skin type and condition. While some people may see optimum results after 1 to 3 treatments, others may require more sessions. With some patients some blemishes may reappear as a result of sun exposure but these vessels and blemishes are able to be treated as previously.

A no obligation consultation with one of our Cosmetic Physicians, Nurses and Clinicians or Aestheticians is essential so your skin can be examined and assessed for its suitability for YAG Laser treatment.
