The YAG Laser treatment targets the red pigment in red blood cells in your capillaries and blood vessels (spider veins) which are visible on the skin surface.
The light emitted from the YAG Laser is absorbed by the red pigment which results in elimination of the blemishes and marks. The light emitted is also absorbed by the Melanin in the skin and is an effective treatment for abnormal pigmentation Hyper-Pigmentation and Melasma. Because the YAG laser is long wavelength laser, it can be absorbed deeper into the skin to target deeper Hyper Pigmentation and Skin Vessels.
Patients with fair to olive skin types are best suited for the YAG Laser. Generally patients with dark pigment in their skin are less suited and require special attention.
The YAG Laser treatment is ideal for the face, neck and decolletage. From our experience and depending on your skin type and condition it can require 1 to 3 treatments for optimum results. With some patients some blemishes may reappear as a result of sun exposure but these vessels and blemishes are able to be treated as previously.
A no obligation consultation with one of our Cosmetic Physicians, Nurses and Clinicians or Aestheticians is essential so your skin can be examined and assessed for its suitability for YAG Laser treatment.
