Upper Arm Lift Surgery (Brachioplasty)

(also known as Brachioplasty surgery)

Over the years with getting older, weight fluctuations from weight gain to extreme weight loss can have a direct effect on the excess skin on the arms. This excess skin can be corrected with an Upper Arm Lift Surgery or Brachioplasty Surgery.

An Upper Arm Lift is a procedure whereby the skin along the upper arm is tightened either by the Traditional method of removing the excess skin or by our exclusive Minimally Scarring Upper Arm Lift.

Surgical Warning: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Minimally Scarring Upper Arm Lift

How does a Minimally Scarring Upper Arm Lift work?

Dr Ashley Granot has pioneered this revolutionary procedure since the early 2000’s. It involves making a small incision in the armpit and applying an exclusive procedure used by Dr. Ashley and our Surgeons to encourage collagen formation which assists the excess skin in the arms to tighten with no scarring.

Following surgery a specific routine as designed by Dr Ashley needs to be followed utilising compression garments. The Minimally Scarring Upper Arm Lift procedure can be done in conjunction with a Liposuction procedure so it becomes an extremely cost effective option for patients. An advantage with the Minimally Scarring Upper Arm Lift is that it can be performed in certain circumstances under a local anaesthetic, particularly if no other procedure is being performed.

To determine if a patient is a good candidate for the Minimally Scarring Upper Arm Lift procedure our Surgeons would need to assess your arms and excess skin as well as determine the body’s ability to produce sufficient collagen.

Traditional Upper Arm Lift

How does a Traditional Upper Arm Lift work?

This procedure involves the removal of excess skin along the inner longitudinal line of the arm resulting in the tightening of the arm skin. This is an effective procedure in lifting the upper arms however, it leaves the arm with some degree of scarring which may be visible. Not every patient is a candidate for this procedure and therefore an obligation free consultation is essential with of one of our Surgeons.

What should I expect after Upper Arm Lift Surgery?

After your procedure you may feel drowsy from the anaesthetic. It is important to have someone drive you home and stay overnight. On this evening we recommend you rest. You are provided with an after hours direct number in the event you may have any questions or concerns you wish to speak to us about.

The next day or within a few days you must come back to the Clinic for your first post-operative check. You can also expect a small amount of swelling, which will gradually settle but you should be able to see some results and the shape of your new arms almost immediately.

Your recovery time for Minimally Scarring Upper Arm Lift is over a 2 to 4 week period. Following surgery a specific routine as designed by our Surgeons needs to be followed involving detailed instructions and compression garments. Your recovery time for Traditional Upper Arm Lift Surgery is over a 4 to 8 week period.

We recommend avoiding strenuous activity and lifting for around three weeks, but from six weeks to eight weeks or so you will be able to return to any exercise routines you had before.

Our Surgeons and Nurses will continue to monitor your recovery through a number of post-operative check-ups and are available at any time if you have questions or concerns. If you have any questions or concerns please call theClinic to speak with your Surgeon, Nurses or one of our staff members.

How Much Does Upper Arm Lift Surgery Cost?

The cost of an upper arm lift surgery can vary depending on the extent of the procedure and your goals, so listing a general price is difficult.
