Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift

Silhouette Soft is the most state of the art threads in the world. No Cutting. No Surgery. Minimal downtime. The procedure is done usually within 30 minutes.

Dr Gordon Ku has done hundreds of these procedures and regularly trains other doctors in this procedure.

What is a Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift?

Silhouette Soft® is a non-surgical innovation that refreshes the look of the aging face by tightening key aging parts of the face and neck. It is done in such a simple and minimally invasive way, with minimal downtime.

Who is a suitable candidate for Silhouette Soft®

Any patient with good skin quality and require tightening of the face and neck.
Usually patients between the ages of 35 to 65 are suitable.

Which Areas Can Be Treated?

Silhouette Soft® can be used to treat various parts of the face:
• Contours of the face
• Jaw line
• Jowls
• Cheeks and mid face area
• Under-eye hollow
• Neck

How is Silhouette Soft® different to other types of “thread lifts”?

Silhouette soft threads, made in the USA, are the most superior type of threads on the market in terms of design and suture material, because the cone technology of Silhouette Soft provides 360 degrees of "catch" of the tissue to be lifted as opposed to most other types of threads on the market that are designed with "spikes".

Most of the other types of threads on the market are Korean-made PDO threads which provides minimal lifting and causes mostly "scar tissue" formation rather than true collagen formation.

How does it work?

Silhouette Soft® uses a double action effect to restore smoother and more toned skin, but also a more well-defined face.

To meet this requirement, Silhouette Soft® combines two effects: An immediate repositioning of the tissue and a gradual regeneration of collagen.

How long does the result last and how many treatments are required?

The Silhouette Soft threads and cones will dissolve over approximately 15 months, but during that time, they stimulate the growth of collagen around them. This collagen (called “Type I Collagen) is still there after 2 years from the time of the procedure. So most patients still have a good cosmetic result after 2 years.

We recommend a review with the treating doctor again around 24 months after the procedure to see if a repeat procedure is required.

What are the steps in a Silhouette Soft® Thread Lift Treatment?

1. Pre-treatment Consultation
During your consultation, your doctor will evaluate your cosmetic concerns and review your medical history.
As there are some risks associated with all treatments, you need to fully disclose your medical history prior to treatment. Some skin allergies and neurological conditions, or medications can jeopardize your safety or results.
2. During the Treatment
Before conducting the treatment, your physician will evaluate your needs and explain where the Silhouette Soft® sutures will be placed using a marking pen. The treated areas will be sterilized, and you may be given a topical anaesthetic to numb the area prior to the suture’s insertion.
Due to the sutures being inserted into the fat layer under the skin, there is relatively low level of discomfort during and after your treatment. Once the suture has been applied, the doctor performs slight molding of the skin to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect. The non-inserted ends of the suture are cut off.
The number of sutures applied depends on the skin laxity and condition.
3. Following the Treatment
The insertion of Silhouette Soft®® elicits a minimal inflammatory reaction, this is normal and required. After placement patients may experience some slight side effects, This may include minor pain, swelling and bruising.
The retightening effect is immediate: thanks to bi-directional cones distributed over the suspension suture that keep the skin in an elevated position. And the regenerative action is gradual: the main component of the suture (Polylactic acid: PLLA) during reabsorption stimulates the body so that it produces its own collagen. This action, which continues over time, restores the contours of the face and offers long term results.
Your physician will provide you with post-treatment recommendations and an aftercare program to follow to ensure the best possible result.

What Happens Immediately After Silhouette Soft® Treatment?

Like all procedures of this type there are potential side effects. Some mild swelling is the most common side effect, and it can usually last about 2-3 days.
Other uncommon side effects include infection, minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction, and pain. Transient bruising may also occur. Sometimes, a slight depression or skin irregularity may appear at the entry points. These inconveniences should disappear a few days after treatment.

Is Silhouette Soft® Treatment Painful?

The treatment is performed under local anaesthetic, avoiding pain during insertion of the suture. So there is very minimal discomfort.

How much does it cost?

As every patient we see has different requirements, it is difficult to provide standardised pricing as each procedure is tailored for each individual patient's situation. A no obligation consultation with one of Surgeons is essential in determining what you require and which procedure would be best suited for you.

Our philosophy is simple. We want you to be fully informed, and we want you to understand all your options and have one accurate price quoted once. Consultation fees may apply.

There is no need for you to obtain a referral from your own doctor to see one of our Surgeons. Generally we are able to book you in to see one of our Surgeons in 7 to 14 days.
